Laugh While Watching 'Burn After Reading'
Burn After Reading assembles a stellar cast consisting of Brad Pitt (in a geeky flattop), George Clooney, Frances McDormand,Tilda Swinton and John Malkovich for the soon-to-be-released film by Coen brothers Joel and Ethan.
The dark comedy is about two gym employees (Pitt and McDormand) who stumble upon a CD of files from an ousted CIA official's memoirs.
After the Coens' somber Academy Award-winning No Country for Old Men, the new film marks a return to the territory of dark, irreverent comedy and charmingly hapless criminals.
Joel Coen summed it up to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, "The film is about the culture of the Central Intelligence Agency and the culture of physical fitness in Washington, D.C., and what happens when those two worlds collide. It's also about Internet dating."
The peek debuts as a red-band trailer rather than a more tame green bander, which means it's for mature eyes only. And nothing sates true Coen fans more.
Sadly, fans will have to wait until the end of summer for the premiere.
Until then, chew on this morsel.
