Anneliese van der Pol: Meet the Disney

Anneliese van der Pol is best known as “Chelsea” in the Disney Channel original series That’s So Raven, a role she played for four years. Not only can she act, she is a professional singer as well. She has recorded several songs for The Walt Disney Company, including “A Day in the Sun” and “Over It.”

Born on September 23, 1984, Anneliese has already rocketed to an impressive career. She recently finished her stint on the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast, as the final actress to play the role of “Belle” before the show’s end last year. She is currently rehearsing for the musical Vanities, which will open on Broadway for the first time.

When she was only 15 years old, Anneliese recieved rave reviews from the LA Times for her performance as “Eva Peron” in the Buena Park Civic Theatre production of Evita. At the time, she was the youngest actress ever in history to play the role in a professional production.

From there, she went on to appear on the Disney Channel Games show, on the same team as Zac Efron, Kay Panabaker and Dylan Sprouse. She made a cameo appearance in Bratz: The Movie, and was offered the voiceover role of Kim Possible, which she turned down.

She was arrested in 2006 for driving under the influence and hitting two cars (her blood-alcohol level was 0.19). She was fined and sentenced to three years probation with alcohol education classes. But everyone makes their mistakes, and Anneliese’s certainly don’t have an effect on the star’s talents. Check out her “Over It” music video below!
