‘America’s Next Top Model’ Is a CW Buzz-Kill

It seems the darlings of America’s Next Top Model are gonna have to put a bit more vigor into their steps when working the runway.

The Tyra Banks-led show’s Cycle 11 premiere on the CW last night tanked, suddenly making the network—which scored high earlier in the week with both the return of Gossip Girl and the debut of 90210—seem horribly out of fashion.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed blog reports ANTM premiered to 3.5 million viewers, 1.7 preliminary adults 18-49 rating and a 5 share. That’s down 11% from this past February’s cycle of the show.

The site notes, “Given all the heavy advertising of 90210 and Gossip running up to their premieres, it seems conceivable (if not highly likely) that efforts to promote awareness of the soap dramas may have come at the expense of the network’s highest-rated show.”

Tyra, girl, you’d better amp up the fierce factor if you wanna keep that steady fortune rolling in.
