Travis Barker and DJ AM (real name Adam Goldstein) are currently in critical condition with extensive burns after a private Learjet crashed late Friday night in Columbia, South Carolina.

The two musicians were the only survivors of the crash that killed four people. They are being treated at a burn center in Augusta, Georgia.

Barker shot to fame in the MTV reality show Meet the Barkers and as the drummer of Blink-182. Goldstein is best known as being the former fiance of socialite Nicole Richie.

The pair had been in South Carolina to perform at a college event with former Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell.

WLTX online says that the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday. Air traffic controllers reported seeing sparks. The plane went off a runway and crashed on a nearby road.

The two passengers and two crew members who died have been identified as:

Sarah Lemmon, 31, the pilot, from Anaheim, California.

James Bland, 52, the copilot, of Carlsbad, California.

Chris Baker, 29, Barker’s assistant, of Studio City, California.

Charles Still, 25, security, of Los Angeles, California.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to them and their families.

A doctor announced Sunday morning that both Travis Barker and DJ AM Adam Goldstein are expected to make a full recovery from injuries suffered from Friday night’s fatal airplane crash.

Dr. Fred Mullins of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors’ Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, said at a press conference that the drummer and the record spinner both appear to be out of danger of losing their lives.

Healing from second- and third-degree burns can take as long as a year, but “Since both Barker and Goldstein are in overall good health and didn’t suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected.”

Barker was burned on his torso and lower body.  Goldstein’s injuries were primarily to his arms and head.
