Morning Buzz: Was Heather Locklear Set Up?

TMZ is reporting that the 911 call that landed Heather Locklear in jail over the weekend came from a former Us Weekly staffer who was previously under investigation from the FBI. Jill Ishkanian, a former writer for the tabloid, had allegedly broken into Us’ computer systems after she left the magazine for information on locating celebs. Ishkanian is said to have followed Locklear around Montecito last weekend, and is reportedly the sole witness to her “erratic” driving. Locklear was booked under the suspicion of operating under a “controlled substance” and released on her own recognizance.

Kim Kardashian was surprisingly given the boot last night from Dancing with the Stars, E! reports. DWTS oddsmakers had the wacky Cloris Leachman or celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito as the next to go.

People reports that Janet Jackson’s recent undisclosed illness has caused her to postpone two more shows on her Rock Witchu tour. Jackson has postponed tonight’s Boston show, and tomorrow’s show in Philadelphia until further notice. Her tour will resume in Greensboro, NC on Saturday evening.

Us reports that Russell Crowe’s recent weight gain had to do with his latest film, Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies. Crowe plays an overweight CIA analyst. The actor says that he gained 63 lbs. and would have cheeseburgers for breakfast.

The New York Daily News reports that Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel will team up for the first time to play a concert benefiting Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. They will perform at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom on October 16.
