Vanity Unfair: The Skinny on Kate Winslet

By: Betsy Waldman / November 4, 2008

Kate Winslet may still feel like “the fat kid,” according to her Vanity Fair cover story, but the media back in her home country of England are saying “fat chance” at the thought of the actress’s photos being untouched.

People reports that a few UK papers are pondering whether “that magic airbrush has been at work again.”

However, Winslet’s rep isn’t having any of the hefty lies heaved toward her apparently slim client.

“Kate is furious at suggestions that her body has been airbrushed [in the Vanity Fair shots],” says the handler. “She is in terrific shape and what you see is how she looks or she would never have agreed to pose for those shots.”

Well, she probably does burn a lot of calories carrying and chasing son Joe around town.

Plus, it’s very plausible she pared down her figure. After all, British gals with a little extra weight have so many more options these days than they used to.
