Ashlee Simpson: It’s a Boy!

Musical performer Ashlee Simpson, 24, must be breathing a huge sigh of relief.  She and 29-year-old Fall Out Boy bassist  Pete Wentz are the proud parents of a shiny new baby boy. People reports that Bronx Mowgli Wentz weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz.,  when he came into this world at Cedars-Sinai hospital Thursday night.

The newest addition to the Simpson-Wentz dynasty was 20 1/2 inches long and is presumed to be the only infant in the Cedars-Sinai maternity ward who is already applying his own eyeliner.

“Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy,” said a spokesperson for the couple, “and thank everyone for their well wishes!”

It took a while, but it looks like Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s human cargo is ready to make its debut.

In Touch Weekly reports that Simpson-Wentz, 24, has gone into labor, and is as of Thursday evening at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, preparing to push like a mother.

A family insider tells the mag that 29-year-old daddy-to-be Pete Wentz “and the family are really excited and are waiting to meet the baby.”

Ashlee and Pete confirmed the pregnancy in April, and it’s been a long haul since then. At one point, the parents even resorted to bribery in the hopes of coaxing their child-to-be out.

Now it seems that the time has come. Good luck, guys!
