Morning Buzz: Guess Who Won 'Dancing with the Stars?'
Former model and television host Brooke Burke was revealed as the winner of ABC's Dancing with the Stars last night, according to E!. Burke competed for ten weeks, and was considered to be a shoe-in for the win due to consistently good performances. She was also the first dancer to win a perfect 30 during the competition. The mother of four beat out former boy bander Lance Bass and NFL great Warren Sapp for the win. Burke said she felt "unbelievable!" about the win when asked.
TMZ reports that Britney Spears and her conservators have officially petitioned the court for permission to embark on a tour of the United States next year, with the possibility of taking it worldwide. Spears is unable to make any of the tour deals herself, due to court-ordered conservators like her father Jamie Spears overseeing all of her business dealings. Spears stated to the court that she feels competent to embark on a tour and wishes all the contracts to be created.
TMZ reports that the divorcing parents of Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, appear to be in serious debt. Court documents indicate the couple have outstanding mortgage payments, lines of credit against their two homes, unpaid credit cards and "various other outstanding loans." Gyllenhaal and Foner separated in January, and Foner reportedly stated that her estranged husband's response to her complaints about their finances was "I have been clear that worse comes to worse I will let all of this collapse into ruin, just as I believe letting the markets crash and burn are the right approach."
People reports that Last Call host and former TRL ringmaster Carson Daly is going to be a father. Daly's girlfriend Siri Pinter is expecting their first child. "Carson is thrilled to be a father and they are looking forward to an extra special Thanksgiving this year with family and friends," his rep said. The baby is due in the spring.
Fox News reports that Australia star Hugh Jackman will star in a Broadway musical about the life of escape artist Harry Houdini. Famed composer Danny Elfman will be writing the music. A script by Kurt Anderson isn't readied as of yet, but Jackman is reportedly already working on practicing Houdini's famed escapes for the stage.
