Kirsten Dunst Has a Stalker
Onetime girlfriend of Jake Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst, is seen here braving the windy, cold weather in New York City on November 22, 2008.
However, just two days prior, a man named Christopher Smith showed up at Dunst's Hollywood Hills home in Los Angeles. According to court documents filed by the Spiderman starlet in a successful effort to obtain a restraining order against Smith, he was displaying "aggressive" and "harassing" behavior.
E! Online reports that Dunst, 26, states in her declaration, "Mr. Smith has repeatedly shown up uninvited at my place of residence in Los Angeles, going so far as to ignore police warnings, bypass my personal security measures, trespass on my property, and attempt to gain entry into my home."
Dunst was not at home when Smith arrived at her place on November 20, but an LAPD spokesperson confirms, "On November 20, 2008, there was some sort of a call and police went to her home."
The actress's declaration goes on: "Given his delusional belief that he has some sort of spiritual connection with me and his apparent willingness to ignore security measures, requests to leave me alone and police warnings, I believe Mr. Smith will continue to engage in this behavior, and that this behavior will only escalate, unless and until he is ordered by this court to stop."
Ironically, in October, Dunst discussed her image with OK! magazine and said, "I started wondering if I've been too sexy."
Dunst's restraining order would force Los Angeles native Smith to keep at least 200 yards away from her, her family, personal assistant, and her property. He would also be forbidden from owning or possessing a firearm.
Another hearing is scheduled for December 22, wherein the Los Angeles court will decide whether to grant the actress a permanent restraining order.
Dunst's next film, the mystery All Good Things, finds her starring opposite Ryan Gosling and Kristen Wiig. It will be released next year.
