Vinne Jones: Welsh Football Brawl In South Dakota
Vinnie Jones, well-known for his brutal tough guy roles in Guy Ritchie’s films Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, was pheasant-hunting in South Dakota when he got into a skirmish in a local car.
Pheasant-hunting sounds like a gentlemanly, civilized activity but it ended with Jones pummeling a bar patron and receiving a glass of beer off his head.
Jones is former footie player in the UK, and has long been known for his willingness to break bones on and off the field.
Evidently, he was enjoying a pint in Wiley’s Tavern in the city of Sioux Falls, South Dakota when someone asked him if he was the guy in “the X-Men movie.”
Contact Music reports that Jones, apparently irritated by the fact that the gentleman was unaware of his entire oeuvre, began to get pushy.
“He got offended by that, and he started pushing my other friends around. He said he’s been in so many other movies,” a source said.
Things got even more heated when a patron, who was with the men Jones was tussling with, was said to have exited the men’s room only to be charged by Jones. I’m the Juggernaut, bitch!
“I just walked out the restroom, didn’t say a word to him… and he struck me in the mouth,” Juan Barrera reported.
Jones ended up getting a pint glass full of beer smashed and had to report to a local hospital to be treated. Jones was charged with simple assault, and Barrera was charged with aggravated due to his handiness with a pint glass.
