Mariah Carey’s Tour Plans Scrapped

Mariah Carey’s latest album E=MC² has sold about 1.2 million copies since its April release, but don’t expect the whistle-register diva to be touring in support of it, says the New York Daily News.

Rumors are swirling that Carey, 38, is pregnant. The “Touch My Body” singer was spotted leaving a Beverly Hills OB/GYN yesterday, holding what appeared to a sonogram and smiling while being greeted by her entourage.

Now a source tells the New York City paper that Grammy-nominated Mariah’s tour plans for next year have been ditched in light of her happy news.

“Costume designers and dancers were all called Wednesday and told the tour is off,” said the insider. “Most were hysterically crying because they were relying on her for a paycheck this holiday season.”

In return, Mariah’s rep was asked to comment on the matter. “A tour was discussed, but nothing was confirmed. I have not been told she’s pregnant.”

Carey married Nick Cannon, 28, in April. It’s the second marriage for the pop singer, and the first for Cannon. Neither has any previous children.
