Usher Guides Baby #2 Into the World

Usher’s latest album, Here I Stand, isn’t his only release to drop this year.

People magazine reports that the 30-year-old R&B singer (full name: Usher Raymond IV) and his wife, Tameka Raymond, welcomed their second son into the world on Wednesday.

News of 37-year-old Tameka’s pregnancy broke in September, following rumors that the couple’s relationship was on the brink of collapse.

The new arrival, whose name has not yet been released, came in at 5 lbs., 13 oz. at 2:33 in the morning of December 10. He follows hot on the heels of his big brother Usher Raymond V, who celebrated his first birthday on November 26. Tameka also has three sons from a previous relationship.

A source tells the magazine that the singer was at his wife’s side for the delivery.

Usher recently commented that the new arrival would be “one of the best Christmas gifts there is to have.” Sounds like Santa—or the stork—was running a little ahead of schedule this year.

Congratulations to the couple and their rapidly expanding brood.

It’s just a shame that MTV’s TRL recently went off the air. It would have been entertaining to watch Usher go into a long, off-the-cuff rant about how much his newborn means to him.

UPDATE: Usher and Tameka have released the name of their new son, Naviyd Ely. Condolences to anyone who had Usher Raymond VI in the betting pool.
