Will Smith will soon have something to really cry about. But they will be tears of joy. And he'll be able to wipe them away with $100,000 bills.

According to the New York Post, the 40-year-old actor is setting plans in motion for sequels to his stimulating superhero movie Hancock and apocalyptic zombie flick I Am Legend, films that have amassed worldwide grosses of $632 million and $584 million, respectively.

"He is ready to do both. Producers are just trying to get Charlize Theron to sign on for the Hancock sequel," a Hollywood insider tells the paper. One of Smith's reps confirms, "There have been talks about both of these projects."

The new projects will no doubt bolster Smith's already bulging coffers considerably; the actor scored a $20 million paycheck for Hancock alone, and has been named Hollywood's highest-paid actor by Forbes magazine, raking in $80 million between June 2007 and June 2008.

That'll buy a lot of Scientology training centers.

The I Am Legend sequel, according to the insider, will be more of a prequel, according to the insider—understandable, as Smith's character, Robert Neville, died in the 2007 original. "It will be about how the disease spreads and the fall of the last great American city. It will also develop the relationship between Will's character and his wife."

Smith might as well get while the getting's good; word is that America's economy might not be all that conducive to box-office smashes in the near future. Besides, even in the best of times show biz is a cruel, fickle mistress, filled with young up-and-comers looking to knock you off your throne. And in Smith's case, they might be closer than he thinks.
