Bristol Palin's Future Mother-in-Law Busted for Drugs
The drama surrounding Sarah Palin's brood continues to grow like a baby-swollen belly.
MSNBC reports that Sherry Johnston, the mother of Levi Johnston—the boyfriend and babydaddy of former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol—has been arrested on numerous drug charges.
Bristol and Johnston were thrust into the national spotlight in September. Shortly after Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain's Vice Presidential running mate, news broke that Bristol, then 17, was five months pregnant with Johnston's child. The two announced their plans to marry soon after. No ceremony has so far occurred. Their child, meanwhile, is due tomorrow.
Alaska State Troopers arrested the elder Johnston, 42, and charged her with second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and fourth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances. She was subsequently released on a $5,000 bond.
Camp Palin is mum on the matter. Palin's spokesman, Bill McAllister, issued a statement reading, "This is not a state government matter. Therefore the governor's communications staff will not be providing comment or scheduling interview opportunities."
So, basically, it's just like the Presidential campaign?
Don't worry, Sarah; you don't have to say a word. Chances are, a certain gang of late-night smart alecs will have plenty of commentary on the matter.
