Morning Buzz: Lindsay Lohan Denies Breakup Reports
Lindsay Lohan is denying reports that her relationship with female DJ Samantha Ronson is over. After numerous reports of the couple fighting on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, several media outlets reported yesterday that they had broken up. Lohan posted on her Celebrity MySpace blog (in an entry titled "Rumors") that she is still with her girlfriend. "Little piece of true information: we did not break up!," she posts. "access hollywood, extra, et, every tabloid, page six...AND every gossip website. Get your stories straight please. It's really annoying to have all of your friends emailing you saying, I saw, I read, etc....NOT TRUE."
A coroner in the Bahamas has officially listed the cause of Jett Travolta's death as "seizure." TMZ reports that the 16-year-old suffered a seizure in the bathroom of his hotel room on New Year's Day evening and struck his head on either toilet or the wall. Jett's body is said to have been cremated yesterday after the autopsy and the ashes flown to Florida.
Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson announced that he had gotten married on his show last night. People reports that Ferguson wed girlfriend Megan Wallace Cunningham in a ceremony in Vermont over the holidays. "The wedding took place in Vermont, where they have legalized gay civil unions – and I married a woman," said Ferguson, who exhibited his wedding ring for the cameras and claimed, "It's not just bling."
Veteran actor Rip Torn, 77, was arrested on his third DUI charge in the last five years in Connecticut. Torn was reported to have been pulled over on Rt. 44 while driving a Subaru with a Christmas tree on top in the breakdown lane, according to TMZ. Authorities determined that Torn failed a field sobriety test, and the 30 Rock actor also refused a breathalyzer. He pled not guilty in court.
Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski has filed a motion to have his charge of unlawful intercourse with a minor from the 1970s removed from the Los Angeles Superior Court system and handed to the California Judicial Council for review. Polanski also filed a motion to have the entire case dismissed last month. Polanski's lawyers have claimed "judicial bias and misconduct" in his motion, according to E!.
