Cristiano Ronaldo Is a Crashing Young Fellow
Apparently, there’s one fiery wreck that Cristiano Ronaldo just couldn’t avoid.
Ronaldo, 23, totaled his ride in Manchester, England, while driving just ahead of a Bentley being driven by his teammate, Edwin van der Saar. Both are believed to have been heading to their team’s Carrington training ground.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. on a stretch of road that takes traffic beneath the runways of Manchester Airport. Though the Ferrari was pretty thoroughly destroyed, Ronaldo emerged physically unscathed and made it to his team’s training session.
“The front of Ronaldo’s car was completely mangled,” says a witness to the wreck. “There was metal all over the road, and debris. We had to dodge our way through it. Ronaldo was just standing at the side of the road looking forlorn and bewildered.”
Police questioned Ronaldo shortly after the incident and administered a breathalyzer test, which came back negative.
Luckily, Ronaldo has no shortage of alternate wheels. The soccer player has a fleet of cars including a Bentley Continental GT Speed and a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. And if he has any boo-boos that need to be kissed, he seems to have that pretty well covered too.
