Victoria Beckham Strips Down for Armani

Victoria Beckham is typically known for her unique choices in outerwear, but thanks to Giorgio Armani, the world will forever associate her with lingerie too.

Beckham, 34, has become an underwear model for Emporio Armani, which is something of a Beckham family tradition. Her 33-year-old soccer-star husband David Beckham previously flaunted his goods for the underwear company.

The black-and-white photos, taken by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (coincidentally, the same team that shot Katie Holmes’ new Miu Miu ad and Madonna’s campaign for Louis Vuitton), depict the former Spice Girl lounging moodily in her scanties.

The images totally contradict Beckham’s previous self-assessment that she looks “really awful naked.”

Apparently, the $15 million that Armani ponied up for Beckham elevated her body image a bit—or, perhaps, paid for a bit of emergency surgical work.

And, of course, there’s the honor of working with a fellow giant in the apparel industry.

“To be given this opportunity to work with Armani is thrilling,” Beckham notes. “I have so much respect for him.”

The feeling, it seems, is mutual. “Victoria is a style icon,” Giorgio says of his spokesmodel choice.  He characterizes the mother of three as “a dynamic lady whose influence and recognition will add great excitement to the continued international growth of our underwear business.”
