Shia LaBeouf Can’t Drive for a Year

Shia LaBeouf better get used to tooling around town on that skateboard of his.

Access Hollywood reports that the Transformers star, 22, has had his license suspended for a minimum of one year due to his July 2008 car crash in West Hollywood.

The suspension, which took effect on January 17, was handed down because of LaBeouf’s “refusal to take chemical tests” after his accident, the Department of Motor Vehicles announced.

LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of DUI after the crash, but charges were dropped because of insufficient evidence.  The other driver in the wreck, 21-year-old Herbert Simon, was found at fault because he’d run a red light at the intersection where the accident occurred.

In October, LaBeouf evicted his own father from his garage to make room for a brand-new custom Porsche he’d just bought. Guess he needn’t have bothered for a while after all.

The suspension is probably all for the best, though. LaBeouf’s hand is still badly injured from the accident. In fact, he had to drop out of the Neal Burger feature Dark Fields because of the injury.

Having an incapacitated mitt makes it nearly impossible to properly signal while driving in Los Angeles.
