Oscars to Twilight: 'No Awards for You!'
Sorry, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, et. al; you may be overwhelming fan favorites, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has no love for you.
The blockbuster vampire flick Twilight didn't garner a single nod in this year's list of Oscar nominees. The movie was wholly eclipsed by such fare as Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, The Dark Knight and especially The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which garnered an astounding 13 nominations.
Perhaps an anticipated lack of Oscar buzz is why there have been so many cast and crew shake-ups for the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon. The rumored addition of 14-year-old actress Dakota Fanning, in particular, would seem to be an effort to add some critical heft to the follow-up flick.
Oh well; at least Pattinson and the gang have plenty of $1,000 bills they can wipe their tears away with.
The Academy Awards air February 22 on ABC.

Ok, so maybe Twilight ain't one of those Oscar-baiting flicks..but they could have given a nod to Twilight for Best Original Song ("Decode") or maybe Best Score... best original song would mean they hire a music director to make a song, not just hire paramore....

twilight is my favorite movie!! i am so angry! twilight has to have an Oscar!! actually twilight is so much better than slumdog millionaire, and than the dark knight. Actually, oscar awards is not measured for its many fans or how much it earned. It is awarded for what can be called a work of art. Twilight is more of a flick and not a work of art. And besides, critics hate it. If Twilight deserves to have an oscars, then, Harry Potter should have too. HP is BETTER than Twilight.

I believe its better than slumdog. i went to go see this movie 4 times i love twilght every time id go with a group of my friends. so i was ticked when it didnt win.

lots of kids whatch the oscers and so they put in a bounch og movies that adults twilight is the best over all and they knew it
it is just because it is a movie loved mostly by women.
and decode deserved an grammy, or maybe a nominee. paramore is such a underrated band.
I personally loved twilight. and am a huge fan of the series and the stars. but its not the type of movie to make it to the oscar. if you think past the obsessive-ness past for twilight and think logically. you would agree with me too.
