Brad Pitt Bidding Malibu Goodbye Forever?
Brad Pitt, 45, announced at an Oscar round table on Sunday that he's putting his Malibu home that he bought after splitting from Jennifer Aniston in 2005 up for sale.
The reason? The paparazzi.
“The publicity machine is out of control. It's everything we didn't sign up for,” Pitt said to Newsweek. “There's this whole other entity that you get sucked into. You have to go and sell your wares. It's something I never made my peace with. Somehow you're not supporting your film if you don't get on a show and talk about your personal life. It has nothing to do with why I do this.”
The passably attractive Brad and Angie look to be settling in France permanently. No word on whether their place in New Orleans will be put up for sale as well.
"They love France, and the laws targeted at paparazzi make it difficult to photograph the kids," a source says.
Pitt's modest home in Malbu is 4000 square feet, set on a cliffside and features bamboo floors, a swimming pool, tennis court and stairs to the beach.
The home, which was built in 1962, sits on three acres of land.
And despite it being a horrendous time to put a house on the market, he has one potential buyer.
At the same round table, 43-year-old Robert Downey Jr. offered to put in a bid.
Iron Man said that he'd had a "pretty good year."
