Gwen Stefani Suffers a Total Recall
Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers clothing line just might have too tight a grip on the children’s fashion market.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that two models of hoodies from the line are being recalled, because “the jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children.”
There have been no reported incidents of strangulation as of yet, and the recall—which affects the RSL Hoodie and Lovers Leopard styles—is voluntary.
The Commission suggests that anyone who has purchased these styles either return the items to the stores they bought them from for a full refund, or remove the drawstrings from the jackets. The styles in question were sold at Macy’s, Nordstrom and other retail outlets from August 2008 to January 2009.
The Commission notes that consumers can contact the items’ distributor, Jerry Leigh of California, at (877) 800-0824, ext, 122, or go to www.cpsc.gov for more information.
