Jennifer Hudson: Triumph and Tears at Grammys

Jennifer Hudson held back tears this evening as an energetic Whitney Houston presented the bereaved singer with a Grammy Award for Best R&B album.

In a genuinely emotional display, Hudson was overcome with gratitude, thanking everyone from Houston to her family “in heaven and those who are with me today.”

Hudson did not make any direct reference to her deceased family in her acceptance speech, but she did finally pass her win over to them.

“I don’t know what to say. I’m just in awe right now,” she said.

It was the audience in awe, however, when Hudson delivered a  stirring performance of her song “You Pulled Me Through,” dissolving into tears on the last note.
