Source: Joel and Benji Madden’s Movie A Go
Joel Madden’s movie star dreams will come true in a matter of weeks, a source tells Celebuzz.
Come early spring, the musician and father will produce and play a central role in the thriller Valley of the Damned, with brother Benji Madden to co-produce.
“Shooting is slated for late March, early April,” the insider reveals of Valley, about a brother and sister who discover the body of a dead teenager.
Celebuzz has also learned that Gossip Girl moonlighter Michelle Trachtenberg is in final talks to star opposite Nicole Richie’s beau.
Frequent Madden collaborator Marvin Scott Jarrett will direct the flick, a project the Madden boys have been developing for over two years.
Joel first discussed the movie with MTV in January 2006.
“For us, ‘Trainspotting’ was to the ’90s, we see ‘Valley of the Damned’ being to this decade,” Jarret said of the film, conceived under he and the Madden bro’s Fast Future Generation production company.
Reps for Madden have not returned calls for comment.
Reps for Trachtenberg tell Celebuzz they are not aware of her involvement in the project.
