Freida Pinto Starring in Next Woody Allen Project
After scoring all sorts of Oscar love with the runaway hit Slumdog Millionaire, Freida Pinto has scored a role in the next Woody Allen project.
The 24-year-old Indian actress will team up with the 73-year-old auteur on an as-yet-untitled project that will also star Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins, Variety reports.
The project is being financed by Mediapro, the same Spanish company behind Allen's recent Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and will be produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures.
This will be the first post-Slumdog film for Pinto.
If Allen's recent track record is any indication, Pinto should start prepping her acceptance speech for next year's Oscars; Vicky Cristina Barcelona earned Penelope Cruz a statuette in the Actress for a Supporting Role category on Sunday.
