Kristen Stewart: Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood
Kristen Stewart says she means no harm Twilight fans.
The Twilight-star-of-much-discussion says her words are taken out of context and then misunderstood by passionate fans.
“You have to stay away from certain key words that can be twisted into a negative connotation,” Stewart said at a press day for her new movie The Cake Eaters, as reported by Collider.com. “Like the word ‘psychotic’ apparently is really bad.”
That response brought a laugh at the table, but wasn’t so funny for some Twilight fans. In an interview with Nylon magazine, Stewart had said, “Anywhere we’d go for Twilight is a psychotic situation. The sounds is deafening and it’s thoughtless as well.'”
At the press day she explained: “I feel like it’s a really humble position to take that it’s not normal—you know what I mean?—to find yourself in a situation where there are 5,000 screaming girls,” she said. “I feel like that’s not normal and not something I should say, ‘Oh yeah, it’s really cool. I love them.'”
Stewart swears: “I love the Twilight fans. I have literally never said anything remotely negative about them.”
