Gwyneth Paltrow's Fitness Regimen Doesn't Come Cheap
Can you really put a price on your health? Gwyneth Paltrow seems to think so—and it's a pretty hefty fee.
The 36-year-old actress and lifestyle guru is preparing to open her new gym in the TriBeCa area of New York City with trainer Tracy Anderson, and apparently membership will shrink the clients' wallets as well as their waistlines.
Reps for the gym—which is due to open later this year—have been cold-calling prospective customers and trying to sign them up for memberships, but apparently the offer isn't as recession-friendly as it could be.
"It's ridiculous," one telemarketing target tells the New York Post. "Membership is like $4,500 to join and then hundreds of dollars a month. Who can afford that right now?"
Who, indeed? And here Gwyneth just finished lambasting actor-turned-rapper Joaquin Phoenix for not keeping it real.
At least, if the gym succeeds, Paltrow will be strong enough to lift all of the loot she'll be raking in.
