Belinda Carlisle Spun Out of 'Dancing With the Stars'
Former Go-Go Belinda Carlisle has gone-gone bye-bye on Dancing With the Stars.
The Associated Press reports that the 50-year-old singer was the first celebrity to get the ax on this season of DWTS. Carlisle and her partner, Jonathan Roberts, were edged out in a dance-off by Apple computers founder Steve Wozniak and partner Karina Smirnoff; both couples earned identical scores of 17 out of 30 from the judges, but viewer votes gave the Woz a stay of execution.
On Monday night's episode, head judge Len Goodman opined that Carlisle's salsa dancing lacked "hip action," and though she showed improvement on that score last night, her footwork suffered as a result.
Carlisle was gracious in the face of defeat. "I had a great time," she offered. "I learned how to dance and I wish I could have done better for Jonathan, because he's a great teacher."
Don't worry, Belinda; everyone knows that you're capable of busting some killer moves. And if anyone should doubt it, they need look no further than the video below:
