Lauren Conrad’s Clothing Line On Hiatus
Hills diva Lauren Conrad has closed down her clothing line for the time being.
Page Six reported that her Lauren Conrad Collection will not be producting anymore garments until further noticed. Conrad launched her line in the fall of 2007.
Showrooms have received notices that her spring and summer deliveries have been cancelled.
Conrad’s reps are citing the country’s recent economic downturn as one of the main reasons she’s putting her frocks on hold.
Sales of her merchandise in stores such as Bloomingdale’s and Kitson have reportedly been sluggish.
However, her reps and a source close to her insists that she will be back in the fashion game at a later date.
“Lauren is going to revamp her line and design with more high-end fabrics . . . things she couldn’t do the first time around,” the source says.
“With everything going on in the economy and in her life, she wants to rework her line and offerings. She will make announcements soon,” her rep stated.
Conrad is currently shooting her fifth and last season of The Hills. So she will have a lot more time to gather those high-end fabrics in the future.
