Justin Timberlake Is in Your TV, Taking Over Your Living Room
Are you ready for a lot more Justin Timberlake in your life?
Well you'd better be, because ready or not he's going to be all over your TV soon.
J.T.'s new prank/game show On the Phone hits MTV at 10 p.m. tonight, bringing hilarity to the airwaves—at least for the viewers.
"We take four people and put them through a game of hell, basically," Timberlake tells People magazine. "We make them characters in an action film. We constantly throw a curve ball."
The premise has contestants vying for a $50,000 cash prize by accepting missions via cell phone, with plenty of monkey wrenches thrown into the works. In tonight's debut, for instance, a contestant presses "1" on her cell phone, at which point a car explodes nearby.
Senseless destruction; ain't it a gas?
"I helped format the show and come up with ideas to constantly up the stakes on the contestants" Timberlake notes. "But I have such a great team that put together the ins and outs of the show."
Jessica Biel's old man will also be popping up to host Saturday Night Live on May 9, with special musical guest Ciara.
It's a role he's filled before, and Timberlake relishes the opportunity to appear again.
"That experience for me is nothing but fun," Timberlake offers. "I feel like I get to hang out with a group of people I like to hang out with and we happen to do sketch comedy, too."
The singer/producer/budding fashion entrepreneur says "I really haven't thought about" what kind of shenanigans he'll get up to on the upcoming SNL episode, but if they're half as funny as his "Single Ladies" spoof, it might be a good idea to watch the episode in Depends.
