Sam Lutfi Refuses to Be Restrained
Say what you will about Osama "Sam" Lutfi—he's nothing if not tenacious.
Britney Spears' former self-styled manager was slapped with a permanent restraining order on Tuesday, barring him from coming within 100 yards of Spears or her family, and from contacting them via phone, mail or e-mail.
But he's not going down without a fight.
TMZ reports that Lutfi has filed an appeal against the restraining order, arguing that he's been done wrong by the legal system and only wishes the best for Britney.
Spears' father/conservator, Jamie Spears, filed for the restraining order, claiming that Lutfi was attempting to undermine his authority over his daughter's life and career.
During earlier court appearances, Papa Spears called Lutfi a "predator" and said he's "dangerous" to his daughter. But that's not the way that Lutfi and his lawyer see it.
"Never before in the history of the world has a restraining order been granted as a result of someone answering someone else's cries for help," Lutfi's attorney, Bryan Freedman, says.
Hmm; maybe the upcoming European leg of Spears' Circus tour is an elaborate effort to get as far away from Lutfi as possible?
