Heidi Klum and Seal: Nice Day for a White Trash Wedding

Heidi Klum and Seal: Nice Day for a White Trash Wedding-photo

How do Heidi Klum and Seal celebrate their love for each other? Apparently, by mocking a certain segment of the American population.

The model and singer renewed their wedding vows at a pal's beach house in Malibu—after ditching their plans for a ceremony in Mexico due to swine flu fears—on Saturday, and one witness tells Us Magazine that the theme of the ceremony was "white trash."

Seal, 46, slapped a mullet wig on his normally bald dome and an American flag jacket, while Project Runway host Klum, 35, had her hair arranged in cornrows.

The ceremony—which was attended by Matthew Perry and Debra Messing, among others—was presided over by a preacher dressed as Elvis Presley.

Culturally insensitive? Perhaps, but this wouldn't be the first time that Klum has shown a seeming disregard for certain groups via costume—she infuriated some segments of the Hindu population last Halloween by dressing as the goddess Kali.

Have your say in the comments section: Was Heidi and Seal's "white trash wedding" appropriate?

I hope hispanicatthedisco was kidding. Tasteless and tacky trash are not the same as downtrodden people. They are having fun with a silly stereotype. Big deal.

Way to make fun of the downtrodden, you obnoxious rich celebrities.

Well, neither of them are from the US, where the whole concept of "white trash" originated, and Europeans are not known for their cultural sensitivity (though they ARE known for looking down on the US). And it's as culturally insensitive as white people wearing cornrows, which people somehow think is attractive (it's not). Hey, at least Seal didn't show up in whiteface.

Those two are actually some of the smuggest people in Hollywood, and that's saying something.
