Rihanna Finally Takes A Stand
In court next month, that is.
Prosecutors in the Chris Brown assault case have announced that they plan to call Rihanna as a witness. She will receive a subpoena to testify at a preliminary hearing June 22. This hearing will focus on whether there is substantial evidence to continue the case against the 20-year-old rapper.
Her attorney Donald Etra told reporters that RiRi will comply with the order, and if called to testify, the singer would be subject to cross-examination by Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos.
This week, Brown taped a YouTube video in which he declared himself "no monster," but the evidence (such as Rihanna's leaked TMZ picture) points otherwise. He pleaded not guilty to the assault charges earlier this month.
