I am completely amazed that people think the child deserved not to have a drink of water. I don’t care when they were shooting, Maddy asked for water WELL before they were about to shoot and Kate denied her request and then requested water for herself. That is PURE EVIL if I’ve ever seen it. I don’t care how many kids you have, or how long the cameras have to wait, give your kids water. Hell, they are her meal tickets. They pay the damn bills, why shouldn’t they get water. You mothers out there that say, “if you give one, then you have to give all”. That’s a bullsh*t answer and you know it. You don’t get paid to parade your kids around, do you? Well she does, and as so, should have a little more patience since they didn’t ask for this life. AND ANOTHER THING……stop blaming Maddy for being dramatic. Our behavior has direct relationship to how we were raised. You’d be jockeying for attention too if your mom kept popping out babies for extra money. Grow up and stop denying kids their basic rights as human beings.

I’m no Kate fan – I’ve never watched the show. But come on, people. She was reaching for the bottle to hand it to her daughter when she stopped and said “no, we don’t can’t right now, we’re going on.” It’s obvious she was GOING to give her daughter some water when the voice in her headset told her not to, because they were about to start filming.

There are plenty of valid reasons to question Kate’s parenting style (like splashing your marital problems all over the press or exploiting your kids for fame) but this harmless episode isn’t one of them

FYI, my friend Melenie has two sets of twins, no husband, and a low paying job, but she still treats her kids much better that Kate treats her kids!

Yes, Kate may be a very busy, self-centered bitch. Yes, she has 8 children, all under the age of 10. Yes, her children may be annoying, misbehaved, spoiled little brats at times, but her children should NOT have been this thirsty in the first place. Air, food, water, shelter, and hygiene and/or restroom use, should all be number 1 in ANY human being’s life. That’s all you need to live. This is completely unacceptable.

Oh come on Kate! All it takes is a half a second to a minute for the average kid to take a sip of water! If we were in that position and I was dying of thirst, after asking my mom she’d get the water bottle, let me have a drink then drink some herself before putting it down and starting the inverview. She just basically tells her poor kid to shut up!

Kate denies Mady. First she hear Mady begging for WATER.then she gets water for herself (she is one selfish lady) and then put it somewhere where mady cannot reach.Finally she says (BEH QUIET).
THIS IS A BAD EXAMPLE OF A MOM.

Are ALL of you out there IMMATURE WHINING CHILDREN? Kate has not been abusive not giving the child a sip of water at that moment in time. The child was doing what a kid does, always wanting, wanting, wanting! Kids see others having whatever…and a kid will whine and complain when the world doesn’t give it immediately, a parent or not…if they have not been TAUGHT discipline of self. All of you, I suggest you ALL, GROW UP YOURSELF AND STOP RIDICULING OTHERS! Kate apparently realizes the personalities of each of her children as well as the various situations they are in when on camera. Her not being a pawn or falling into a codependent relationship with her children is important for all of them. Even at such a young age this demanding child could honestly become a problem, a problem for her whole life if she always gets what she wants – immediately. The point here is immediately, not because Kate had a drink in front of the child. A show like this which shows how a parent CAN discipline without physically beating the Hell out of a kid or verbally YELLING abusive words, or even verbally CONSTANTLY breaking a child’s spirit is something that apparently our world needs – if – most of you out there think that a child must have what they want when they want it – immediately… I am tired of the demanding selfish attitudes of many people and I believe we need to teach our children to request things when they really NEED them, not because they WANT them, or are trying to become the attraction in a situation.

you CAN hear her say “we can’t right now, we’re going on” and normally, mady is just trying to get attention. but i think “so what?” AND SHE ISN’T WORSE THAN MOMMY DEAREST!!!
