Im a hige fan of Twilight AND True Blood but you all must realise that True Blood was out BEFORE Twilight. True Blood is based off of the Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire series which was out in 2000 I think, Twilight came out in 2003. True Blood was filmed in 2007 and on TV September 2008, Twilight was filmed in 2008 and released November 2008. Everything about True Blood/Southern Vampire Series was before Twilight. ATwilighters who cant accept this please go get a grip of yourself. I would also like to mention that Stephen wasnt making a comment about Robert, he was calling Edward a pussy. Therefor everyone saying “hes jealous because he isnt as famous/good looking/talented as Rob” also have to get a grip because you are all speaking a loar of crap.

Vampire Bill should be more worried about his “southern accent” than he is about Twilight. It is the worst southern accent I have EVER heard. OMG! I don’t think the actors from True Blood are very mature if they are constantly trying to get media attention by making fun of Twilight’s vampires, especially Edward. I am a teacher; and it reminds me of 5th graders!

I’m sorry I do belive Twilight Came out in 2005!! If you look at the show it is just a chezzy Twilight wanna be! The girl can read minds dates a vamp and he can shape shift chezzy and the show came out about the same time as Twilight I watched the primere(and never watched it agian!) and after I did I rember screaming at the TV when a Twilight tralior came on when I changed the Channel that you very much, I do belive if you say something, know what your saying.

Yes but True Blood is based on The Southern Vampire Series which came out in 2000. So before YOU say something, know what your talking about. Geez, Twilight copied The southern Vampire Series. Get over it and get a grip of yourself.

Oh please people! Just because some of you are so obsessed with twilight that you can’t see past the fact that True Blood is a fantastice series as well as twilight, then I don’t know what to say. Really, Twilight and True Blood books were both fantastic and the movies and show are both fantastic, so get over yourselves! and it is an old quote and the true blood books did come first, so if anything is cliche it is twilight.

I would have to say that I’ve never watched True Blood, and never been interested in it. I’ve seen bits and pieces, and it seems extremely cheesy, like several people above have stated…VERY clearly. Edward struggles with the craving for humans while that dude just does whatever he feels…NO self control. I see Edward as a more noble and controlled character.

i like both whats the the big deal of one or the other. if i had to choose though it would be True blood. dont get me wrong i like twilight but True Blood is more adult to me and the vamps are way hotter i think. i dont think people should be arguing about the 2 or trying to compare them side by side both books and shows are opposites. i like things that sparkle like diamonds, but as all the stories go, vamps dont sparkle in sun they burn.

Fact to point out?

The Souther Vampire books (the series True Blood was based off of) came out years before Twilight, do some research before posting anything saying Twilight came first. So True Blood is not copying Twilight at all.

I just want to point out that Twilight is a horrible, misogynistic series with more mormon propaganda and horrible writing than you could shake an adverb at. The story is unique in only the most superficial manners and, unlike True Blood, the characters are so nauseatingly bland that the only possible appeal they have is to serve as wish fulfilment and self-projection.

I have been a vampire fan all my life. I’ve seen/read good vampire stuff as well as crappy vampire stuff. Twilight and TrueBlood are two different beasts.

Twilight- is a ‘romantic’ coming-of-age story which women can relate to because every woman has pictured herself as Bella. It’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin. However as I read the Twilight (series) even I was annoyed with the PG-13 action and lack of physical romance. The cast is very talented.

TrueBlood is raw, exciting, visual and base. It appeals to our lust for blood, and all true vampire aspects. There are complex characters and the battle betweent hose who think they’re doing ‘good work’ and just outright fear. The cast is amazing and characters colorful. I can’t get enough of TrueBlood.

Those ‘fans’ who are belittleing either cast/vampire story need to grow up. There is more than enough to go around for everyone and guess what? BLOOD-SUCKING vampires do not exist! And honestly if I had to compare ‘scariness’ of the vamps: ie Bill Compton vs. Edward Cullen, I’d have to say Bill is a million times scarier. REALLY a vamp who sparkles like a disco ball just can’t be too frightning.

I really enjoyed blood ties as a vampire show shame they only made 2 seasons. I haven’t watched True Blood i have seen Twilight and its a good film but prefered the books.

Twilight is a teenie bopper series which is why it is found in the young adult section while the true blood books are not.

I am a guy, and I enjoyed the Twilight movie, but the True Blood series is also addicting. True blood was out before twilight and they have simililarities which leads one to believe that Twilight stole some.

However both are good, just made for separate crowds. The teenie bopping twilight fanatics will not stand for their beloved Edward to be bashed! :P

Ummm actually the true blood books were out way before the twilight books. The True Blood series came out in 2002-2003. Twilight came out in 2005.
