Gwyneth Paltrow Does a Three Week Detox

Gwyneth Paltrow is just one of the many stars who do detox diets to shed those extra pounds.

The star’s slimming secret is a three week mostly juice detox diet.

The “Clean” detox works by cutting out most food and “reducing digestive work so detox can occur in full mode. The Clean Program eases digestion by providing two liquid meals a day and a solid one in between, eliminating allergenic and mucus-forming food, which frees up even more energy,” explains New York-based cardiologist Dr. Alejandro Junger.

This sounds a lot like the Lindsay Lohan diet.

“I feel pure and happy and much lighter,” the actress writes in her GOOP newsletter. “I dropped the extra pounds that I had gained during a majorly fun and delicious ‘relax and enjoy life phase’ about a month ago.”

In addition to nearly starving herself on this dangerous detox, the star also kept up an intensive exercise regimen.

“This program allowed me to work and exercise regularly, something I cannot do if I am on a liquid-only detox,” said Paltrow. Mario Batali revealed to Us Weekly a while back that Paltrow hits the gym for three hours a day.

Sounds dangerous! But that hasn’t stopped Paltrow from raving about the detox and it’s results.

“This program allowed I followed it to the letter and I can report that it worked wonders,” Paltrow says. “This thing is amazing.”
