Johnny Depp Wants to Sing Like a Girl

In a recent Public Enemies interview, Johnny Depp admitted that it is his secret wish to be cast in a movie as 88-year-old actress and singer Carol Channing.

“My dream role would be to play musical legend Carol Channing in a biopic of her life. I love her, I really do. She’s amazing,” Depp gushed.

Due to the wide variety of roles that the actor has taken during the course of his career, we probably shouldn’t be shocked, but we can’t help but raise an eyebrow. The thought of Johnny wearing heels, a short skirt, and using a nauseating falsetto voice raises a number of stupefying and disturbing questions about the logistics of actually creating such a film.

Even still, he is optimistic about his chances, placing his trust in modern movie magic.

“With all the digital technology available these days I could probably pull it off,” Depp remarked, adding, “I’d have a go at playing a 12-year-old girl if they asked me to.”

We’d pay to see it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not weird.
