Mischa Barton's Producer Is, uh, Supportive
With friends like these, is it any wonder that Mischa Barton needs a little mental time-out?
Barton was unable to make the New York premiere of her latest film Homecoming on Thursday because she's been placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. And now one of the film's producers, Bingo Gubelmann, has reached out to Usmagazine.com to offer something that kind of, sort of resembles sympathy.
"It's frustrating. And it's not ideal," Gubelmann offers. "It's frustrating, but I'm not going to sit here and trash her because we're young as a company and we've got to live and learn...I don't want to be known as the producer that will turn on any actress at the drop of that hat."
Gee, that's big of him.
Gubelmann goes on to note that the actress didn't seem unstable while filming the movie, in which she plays a disturbed woman who gets revenge on her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend.
"She did it and she did an amazing job," he notes. "It's like, maybe she went method and maybe that's what happened!"
Haw, haw; mental breakdowns are a total crack-up!
