T.R. Knight Talks About 'Grey's Anatomy' Departure
The actor spills to Entertainment Weekly that he was dismayed to discover that his character, George O'Malley, was getting less and less screen time in the show's fith season. And due to what he calls a "breakdown of communication" with Grey's executive producer Shonda Rhimes, he felt it was best to leave rather than inquire about his character's diminishing presence.
"My five-year experience proved to me that I could not trust any answer that was given [about George]," says Knight. "And with respect, I'm going to leave it at that."
And even though Grey's Anatomy was responsible for launching Knight's career, he says that he's at peace with his choice to bid the show adieu.
"There just comes a time when it’s so clear that moving on is the best decision," Knight asserts.
