Candy Spelling's Open Letter to Tori

Candy Spelling's Open Letter to Tori-photo

What's more appropriate than writing to your daughter on your personal blog? Writing to her on TMZ.

Candy Spelling sent an open letter to estranged daughter Tori Spelling by posting some harsh words on the celebrity gossip site.

Here's the letter in full:

EXCLUSIVE TO: TMZ.COM
TO: MIDDLE-AGED REALITY SHOW STARS (LIKE MY DAUGHTER)
FROM: CANDY SPELLING

I Know many middle-aged people have issues about their parents and their upbringing. I did. My memories didn't match all those of my mother, and, funny thing, it's the same way with my daughter.

Life has consequences. What you say is on the record. Other people have feelings.

I have a vested interest in this subject. My daughter, Tori's, two-part season finale revolves around my granddaughter's first birthday party and how she has made what seems like an agonizing decision to invite me.

Cue music. Cue sideways glances. Cue Lights.

I did get an invitation just in time for the RSVP deadline. I'm sure its delivery will be on next week's episode with some comment about my house or driveway or street or something they won't like. I wonder if that will be spread out over one part or two. Sigh.

A big party wasn't how I envisioned meeting my granddaughter for the first time; but, hey, this is Hollywood, and my grandchildren have become reality show props, too. At the time I emailed "yes," I didn't realize I was being set up for a two-parter, even though it was clear I was being invited to be part of a segment for my daughter's reality show.

Spoiler alert. Don't read this if you plan to sit through an hour of people looking at their watches and saying "she's late." I decided my first meeting with my granddaughter should be on home video, not primetime cable; so I emailed that I would not be attending.

Back to other reality stars. My husband taught me that the plots have to be fresh and updated. The same old whining gets tired after a while. Enough complaining about what may or may not have happened during first grade or YMCA camp, or what vegetable you were forced to endure, especially when you are privileged enough to be on TV and get paid for it.

For all the reality show personalities, please remember that real life doesn't get edited to make things better or worse or get better ratings. You're responsible for what you do. Life isn't just a show. And your families can't just be props. Make your own season finale without creating conflicts you will regret later.

If Tori AND Candy gave a little, they would gain A LOT!!! Come on ladies, put this negative relationship into something positive! Maybe hire a mediator?

so many psychologists have documented that verbal abuse is the most damaging and can literally destroy a persons self-wroth and self-esteem- to tell you child she needs plastic surgery is disgusting- Tori has an eating disorder and it is proven eating disorders result from low self-wroth- nobody is born with low self-worth, it develops from your environment- Candy spelling is an abusive bitch and she ruined her daughter's life- I am hoping for a little karma coming her way and wish Tori peace

Candy Spelling is such an ego maniac and so self involved...like it's all about her...What a selfish OLD witch. Also whoever did her plastic surgery should give her a refund because it didn't work.

Candy Spelling is one of those women who hates their children. Yes there are women out there like that. In Tori's book she stated that as a child she once asked her mother if she looked pretty and her mother replied " you will when you get your nose done". Candy has been demeaning and hurting Tori all her life. She will continue to do it because she hates herself and is jealous of the life that Tori has made for herself despite her mother's attempts to destroy her self-esteem. Just because a woman wants children does not mean she is capable of loving her children. I think if you look in Candy's past you'll see her mother also emotionally abused her. It's usaually generational.

Candy Spelling is being an incredible BITCH!!! For whatever reason(s) she has for not seeing her daughter & grandchildren, shouldn't SHE, put that aside, & get to know the children, & maybe "forgive....?" Tori? The problem with most family "squabbles", is that, unfortunately, they forget, that NO ONE (NOT EVEN RICH CELEBRITIES).....is promised tommorrow!!!!! Another thing is this, EVERYBODY only ever gets ONE go around at this thing we call "Life", and we all only get ONE REAL mother, whether we like her or not!!! Ladies isn't life entirely too short to sweat all that "small" stuff?!!!! Wake up, before it's too late. Death is so final, & we all know about regret. My mother & I never made ammends before she died & even though, she's the one who rejected me, I've always felt the guilt. Guilt that I "should have tried harder, to fix things", I can't change that & Iive with that everyday, it's very heavy.

why was Tori not inheriting any of the Fortune of her Fathers? What is and was the problem between her and her parents, her father was the Wealthiest Producer in Holywierd and she was left out of the Money for some reason, what reason?

I think Candy needs to grow up and act her AGE. Tori loves her mom and that is clear. It is really none of Candy's buisness how tori lives her life, whether it be on air or off. Candy will be the one to regret the desicions made here, not Tori. I can see why Dean can't stand her...........

Oh, come on, Candy just be there for your daughter and do it her way...it would mean a lot!

TOri is middle-aged? If being in your thirties is middle-aged, then so is Angelina Jolie or Kate Hudson. And that makes Candy an ancient old one.

Perhaps this matter between mother and daughter should be dealt with in private.

Tori Spelling's mom is a jealous old bitch- that is mad because her daughter has a life. When you are in a relationship with someone- you don't have time to care about someones harsh words and negitive remarks.
