Jennifer Love Hewitt Is Getting Some Comic Relief

As if her acting and budding country-music career weren’t enough to keep her busy, Jennifer Love Hewitt is about to add “comic-book creator” to her résumé.

Comic Box reports that Hewitt is launching a ten-issue comic-book series, The Music Box, in conjunction with IDW Publishing. The series will involve a mysterious music box that causes strange occurrences for anyone who possesses it.

“The chance to create my very own comic, and a horror/thriller at that, is like a very fun nightmare come true,” Hewitt says of the venture. “I’ve always been fascinated by the notion that an inanimate object can hold as much malevolent energy as a human being can. And when they two meet, or are at cross purposes, very bad things can happen. I’m so proud of The Music Box and can’t wait for people to read it…with the lights on, of course!”

Well, duh; it’s not very easy to read with the lights off, is it?

The series, which will be launched in November, will be written by Scott Lobdell, whose credits include Uncanny X-Men, Fantastic Four and Galaxy Quest. Contributing artists will include Michael Gaydos (Alias), Casey Maloney (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) and Adam Archer (Friday the 13th).
