Rihanna Wants Chris Brown Restraining Order Dropped
Donald Etra, attorney for the “Umbrella” singer, tells People magazine that Brown’s current restraining order—which bars him from coming within 50 yards of her, or 10 yards if they’re both attending the same event—is unnecessary, and he may tell the judge that during Brown’s sentencing on Wednesday.
“If asked, we will tell the court that all that’s necessary is a level-one order: That Brown not annoy, molest or harass her,” Etra says. “No stay-away order was ever requested by Rihanna, nor did she ever believe it was necessary.”
In June, Brown pleaded guilty to viciously assaulting Rihanna after a Grammys party earlier this year. The singer, who has since apologized for the incident, is expected to be sentenced to five years probation and 180 hours of community labor in his home state of Virginia.
