SYTYCD's Alex Da Silva Arrested on Rape Charges
So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Alex Da Silva is once again doing a dance with law-enforcement authorities over accusations of sexual assault.
E! Online reports that Da Silva was arrested in his North Hollywood home on Tuesday morning and charged with eight frelony counts, including forcible rape, in relation to four of his dance students.
Da Silva is currently being held on $6.2 million bail, and could face life in prison if convicted. Deputy District Attorney Rosa Alarcon revealed that Da Silva's alleged victims were 20 to 26 years of age at the time of the alleged assaults, which supposedly took place between August 2002 and March 2009.
In April, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office declined to press sexual assault charges against Da Silva due to lack of evidence, pending further investigation.
