Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox Face Off for Barbarella Role

Brace yourselves, people; this may very well be the mother of all casting showdowns.

MSN reports that both Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox are vying for the title role in the upcoming remake of the 1968 sci-fi camp classic Barbarella—and Jolie is feeling the heat of the competition!

“This will be the first time Ange and Megan have ever faced off for the same role,” a source says. “Ange is really feeling the pressure. Ange knows that to win roles she has to look youthful.”

The insider adds that Jolie is “petrified” of losing to role to Fox, who’s 11 years Jolie’s junior.

Hopefully the two ladies can settle this in a civilized manner—perhaps by wrestling each other in a kiddie pool filled with chocolate pudding.

Director Robert Rodriguez had originally hoped to cast Rose McGowan in the role, which was made famous by Jane Fonda, but the poor box-office performance of the McGowan-starring Grindhouse reportedly put the kibosh on that idea.
