Ashley Greene Promises 'Guy-Friendly' Eclipse
Good news, fellas; there'll be a little something extra for you in the upcoming Twilight sequel Eclipse.
Twilight star Ashley Greene tells MTV that director David Slade—who's currently lensing Eclipse in Vancouver—will be bringing a distinctly male mood to the vampire flick.
Greene says,
"The first one was very focused on this love story and really sweet and it was beautiful, but it didn't have a lot of stuff that guys would go, 'Yeah, I want to go see that.' There's going to be a lot more focus on [action], and the fight scene will have more emphasis on it. I definitely think it will be a little more guy-friendly."
Greene adds that, overall, Slade will be bringing a darker vibe to Eclipse, compared to its predecessors—perhaps over Summit Entertainment's objections.
"I think it'll be different. I think it's going to be a battle between the studio and the director, and it's going to be a hard balance, 'cause I think he's ... a little more focused on it being real and maybe it being gorier and a little dark and kind of dramatic."
Hopefully they'll include the fights between Slade and the studio execs in the DVD extras.
What say you, Twi-hards? Do you trust David Slade to do Eclipse right, or would you rather see someone else in the director's chair? Let us know in the comments section!
