Emma Watson Is an Ethical Fashionista
Emma Watson is entering the fashion world—and doing some good while she's at it.
The Guardian reports that the Harry Potter star is developing a clothing line with People Tree that will focus on bringing fair trade and organic fashion to young consumers.
Watson will act as creative adviser for the line, which will use organic and fairly traded cotton and will include, among other items, knitwear, cotton T-shirts, jersey dresses, poplin skirts and shorts. Watson says of the venture,
"I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren't many options out there."
Watson's clothing line will hit stores next February.
