Jon Gosselin Admits He Took the Money

Remember how there were reports that Jon Gosselin cleaned out his and estranged wife Kate Gosselin’s joint bank account? But then he denied it?

Yeah, well, he’s changing his story again.

The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad admits that he dipped his hand into the cookie jar, but not as deep as was originally reported—and he has a good excuse!

At least in his mind.

Papa Jon tells Entertainment Tonight that he actually only needs to return $155,000 to the account—earlier reports indicated that he withdrew in excess of $200,000—and that the whole thing was just a big misunderstanding.

Says Gosselin,

“It was just after arbitration and we weren’t supposed to take money out of the restrictive account and we both did. I was found in contempt for doing so. I didn’t realize, I thought I was just taking my paycheck out.”

Really, dude? Is that the best that you can come up with?

During a hearing this week, Jon was ordered to pay back $180,000 to the account by October 26, lest he face a contempt of court charge.
