Kim Kardashian Stands Up for Jessica Simpson in NFL Cartoon Flap

Jessica Simpson has just gained a major ally in the uproar over the cartoon making jest of her weight that ran on this week’s NFL Fox Sunday.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian—who herself has been the butt of many jokes due to her shapely posterior—has rushed to Simpson’s aid, telling PopEater that the jokes were totally unfounded.

(In the cartoon, characters representing Dallas Cowboys quarterback/former Simpson flame Tony Romo’s teammates and coach crack wise about Simpson’s weight in the locker room. Fox Sports subsequently issued an apology after the cartoon was met with public disapproval.)

Says Kardashian,

“I’m glad they apologized. Fox shouldn’t be making fun of Jessica Simpson, who has such an amazing body…She’s clearly not overweight and laughing about that gives young girls the wrong message.”

Kardashian likens Simpson’s plight to that of her sister Khloe Kardashian.

“Now Khloe’s in the same boat,” says Kardashian. “There’s no secret to (avoiding the attacks)…[w]e just live our lives. That’s all you can really do.”

Good advice for all of us, really.
