Jon Gosselin Wants $5 Million From TLC

Jon Gosselin has apparently decided that the best defense is a good offense.

Radar Online reports that the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad, who’s being sued by TLC for alleged breach of contract, is planning to countersue the cable network—for a staggering $5,000,000.

In its suit against Gosselin, TLC claims that he violated the terms of his contract by making paid appearances on other media outlets. It’s believed that Gosselin’s legal team of Mike and Mark Heller will claim that the cable network is preventing Gosselin from making a living with its restrictive contract conditions. Which may be a tough point to prove—TLC’s initial court filing indicates that they planned to continue paying Jon even after changing the name of the show from Jon & Kate Plus 8 to Kate Plus 8.

The network also contends that Gosselin is free to find work in his former field of Information Technology.

Gosselin is facing a preliminary injunction hearing regarding TLC’s suit in a Maryland court on December 14.
