Mike Tyson Arrested After Alleged Scuffle With Pap
Wow. Someone was actually dumb enough to get on the fighting side of Mike Tyson.
People magazine reports that the former boxing champ was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, after allegedly getting into a brawl with a paparazzo.
Tyson was passing through Los Angeles International Airport at about 4:30 on Wednesday afternoon, en route to Las Vegas from Europe, when a pap began taking shots of the 43-year-old retired pugilist. And that's when the trouble began, according to Sgt. Jim Holcomb:
"The two men got into a scuffle, and it's alleged that Tyson hit the photographer once in the face with one hand, causing him to fall to the ground. The photographer sustained a laceration to the forehead, and was taken to a local hospital."
A laceration to the forehead? Dude's lucky that Tyson didn't bite his ear off!
The boxer's attorney, Richard Shonfield, maintains that his client will be fully exonerated in the matter:
"Mr. Tyson did absolutely nothing wrong, he was the victim in this case. We look forward to vindicating him and pursuing his rights."
Tyson, who was taken into custody by the LAPD and held on $20,000 bond, was released at 8:24 p.m. He had reportedly been traveling with his wife, Lakiha Spicer, and their 10-month-old daughter Milan at the time of the incident.
