Billy Joel's Daughter Alexa Ray Joel Attempts Suicide, Is In Stable Condition
We're sad to report this morning that Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, was rushed to the hospital yesterday afternoon in NYC after a suicide attempt.
The singer's roomate called 911 shortly before 12:30 p.m. to report an “emotionally disturbed person” was “having trouble breathing” at her West Village apartment. This was after ingesting a large number of pills and telling her roomate she wanted to die.
Her publicist, Claire Mercuri, said in a statement, "Her doctors are assessing her needs" and, according to TMZ, Alexa is now in stable condition.
Our thoughts are with Alexa and family in this difficult time.

I wish Alexa the best. Thousands of girls each year take their lives. Suicide is a disease that can be prevented. It is an illness that deserves serious attention and discussion. Look for the signs among the girls you know - depression, talking about ending it all (even as a joke), refusal to see a psychiatrist, withdrawal from friends and family, etc. See anything out of the ordinary, be serious about it and address it. You can save a life. As for Christie Brinkley, I am sure she will get her daughter the medical and psychiatric attention she needs. She has ALWAYS been a protective mother to her children. Nothing more needs to be said.
wow.... her mom will be devestated for this. just reach divorce settlement, cheated husband(x-now) and wanted to die daughter.... that's a lot in one year.....
